HOW DOES DISCOVER WORK?

PROBLEM:
A person perspires up to 500 grams of vapour per night. At cold temperatures it happens, that the condensating point — the temperature at which vapour becomes water — is INSIDE of the sleeping bag, mostly at the inner side of the outer shell, and hardly dries up. If it is even colder, the water freezes to ice. The sleeping bag is getting damper and heavier every night and looses much of its insulating property.

SOLUTION:
A second outer shell made from water resistant, tear-proof Shellproof Ultra can be turned inside out through a zip-opening. This way condensed water or ice can easily be removed from the sleeping bag. The inner shell of the ECC Expedition is made from very lightweight and highly breathable Shelltrans Ultra. This ensures, that the remaining humidity inside of the down filling dries up quickly. The entire sleeping bag system stays dry much longer, even in long-term use.

The two outer shells create an additional insulating air space, which also increases the insulation property. The ECC Expedition sleeping bags offer an unrivalled warmth-weight ratio.
